Drake Log Cabin

Built in 1816, this one-room log cabin shows how early settlers lived. Items from the era are on display.

St. Patrick's Log Church

Early settlers built this church in 1806 after using the nearby grounds as a cemetery beginning in 1798. This rough-hewn log structure, with benches and wooden altar, is still intact and open daily. Call for hours.

Armstrong County Historical Museum and Genealogical Society, Inc.

The Armstrong County Museum is located in the McCain House on N. McKean Street in Kittanning. A federal-style edifice built in 1842 by Thomas McConnell, it features a drawing room, Indian room, genealogical library and exhibit room.

Dayton Area Local Historical Society / Marshall House

This ten-room furnished country farmhouse on the National Register of Historic Places is open Saturdays from Memorial Day to mid-October from 2pm - 4pm. Group tours and dinner arrangements available.

The Armstrong Trail

Beginning at the former site of the Schenley Distillery, this rails-to-trails project passes by many Industrial Age remnants. The trail also features the Brady's Bend tunnel, built in 1915 to bypass a loop in the river. The 52.5-mile trail is mostly unimproved surface, 1.4 miles asphalt and 1.0 miles crushed limestone.
