Pittsburgh Restaurant Week 2016This year marks the 10th annual "Pittsburgh Restaurant Week," a celebration of the city's incredible food scene. (Less you forget, Zagat did name Pittsburgh the No. 1 Food City in the nation.) All told, 67 restaurants are signed on to offer special, multi-course lunch and dinner deals, ranging in price from $20.16 to $35.16. From Alexander's Italian Bistro in Bloomfield to Lydia's in the Strip District and Willow in the North Hills suburbs, Pittsburgh Restaurant Week presents the primo opportunity to dine at restaurants you've been wanting to try.

The Pittsburgher Burger Bash, Aug 20 

Pittsburgher Burger Bash 2016And right of the midst of this delicious week of food offerings is the "2016 Burger Bash." This event, taking place at SouthSide Works, bills itself as annual gourmet burger competition and includes the likes of Bill's Bar & Burger, OTB Bicycle Cafe, The Fire Side Public House, and Blawnox-based Nox's Tavern and Grille. This annual burger competition showcases the best burgers in the 'Burgh as judged by popular vote and celebrity judges. So, come hungry - and know that a portion of the proceeds will benefit Biggies Bullies and Girl's Hope of Pittsburgh.

Three Day Blow, Aug 25-27 

Three Day Blow Festival 2016Just around the calendar corner from that is the brilliantly named, "Three Day Blow." This brand-spanking new Pittsburgh-based festival is named for a whiskey-infused Ernest Hemingway short story, and will celebrate all things food and drink. Uh cheers to that! The Three Day Blow brings together food and drink writers, makers and enthusiasts for a series of "brainy breakout" sessions, quirky programming and samplings. Festival highlights include Pierogie Pop-Up - one of Pittsburgh's favorite foods paired with local drinks; Hidden Gems Lunch - small plates from a cornucopia of hidden neighborhood gems; Rustbelt Cuisine; chocolate tastings, and author discussion about the changes and food and agriculture. Festival passes, keynote passes and individual event tickets are available. Uh, yeah! Sign me up!

Steel City Big Pour, Sept 10 

Big Pour 2016And yet another 10th year anniversary celebration to toast...this one for the "Steel City Big Pour," presented by Construction Junction. Guests 21 and over enjoy the unique re-use warehouse ambiance, while sampling beer from 47 craft brewers and food from more than a dozen of Pittsburgh's best restaurants. The 2016 Big Poor will feature entertainment, demonstrations of home brewing and "live art," as it launches its newest campaign for the environment. Construction Junction promotes conservation through the reuse of building materials and the Big Pour helps support its mission.
