Morcilla Small PlatesPittsburgh's hot food scene has done it again– gaining recognition as a foodie destination by ranking as semifinalist in three categories for the prestigious 26th annual James Beard Foundation (JBF) Awards.

Pittsburgh was represented in three categories for 2016:

Best New Restaurant: Morcilla
2016 Outstanding Baker: Rick Easton, Bread and Salt
Best Chef, Mid-Atlantic: Justin Severino, Cure

The JBF's list of Restaurant and Chef Award semifinalists have been selected from a list of more than 20,000 online entries in 21 categories. The semifinalists represent a wide range of culinary talent, from exceptional chefs and dining destinations in ten different regions across the U.S., to the nation’s top wine and spirits professionals, best new restaurants, rising star chefs, pastry chefs and bakers.
