VisitPITTSBURGH Announces New Board Members and Officers

PITTSBURGH – As part of the organization's annual meeting held today at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, VisitPITTSBURGH announced the election of new officers and directors.

The 2016 VisitPITTSBURGH executive officers are:

  • Eric A. DeStefano, VisitPITTSBURGH chairman; (regional vice president/general manager, Omni William Penn Hotel)
  • Bryan N. Iams, VisitPITTSBURGH vice chairman; (vice president, corporate and government affairs, PPG Industries, Inc.)
  • Ann M. Metzger, VisitPITTSBURGH treasurer; (The Henry Buhl Jr. Co-Director, Carnegie Science Center)
  • Tom Martini, VisitPITTSBURGH secretary; (general manager, The Westin Convention Center, Pittsburgh)
  • Jamie Campolongo, VisitPITTSBURGH past chairman; (president and CEO, Pittsburgh Transportation Group)

The new VisitPITTSBURGH board members are:

  • Craig Clark, general manager, Rivers Casino
  • Dan Gilman, councilman, Pittsburgh City Council
  • Sheldon Ingram, broadcast journalist, WTAE-TV
  • James T. Kunz Jr., business manager, International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66
  • Ayanna M. Lee-Davis, senior counsel, Saul Ewing
  • Sylvia McCoy, founder and owner, 'Burgh Bits & Bites Food Tour

"We are pleased to welcome these dedicated professionals to our VisitPITTSBURGH board of directors," said Craig Davis, VisitPITTSBURGH president and CEO. "We are fortunate to have directors who are enthusiastic, highly engaged and focused on growth. These individuals will add valuable insight toward our mission of generating conventions, trade shows, sports events and leisure travel business for the Pittsburgh region."

Craig Clark has served as general manager of Rivers Casino since 2011. He leads a team of nearly 1,800 employees and maintains a commitment to making Rivers Casino an entertainment destination. With more than 20 years of gaming-industry experience and a robust financial background, Clark has become an expert in managing multiple businesses under one roof—from award-winning restaurants, to the slots and tables on the casino floor. Under Clark's leadership, Rivers Casino has been named a 2014 and 2015 "Best Place to Work" in the Pittsburgh Business Times and a 2015 "Top Workplace" in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Dan Gilman is serving his first term as City Council member for the 8th Council District of Pittsburgh. Since taking office, Councilman Gilman has passed legislation on campaign finance reform, ethics reform and website transparency; introduced initiatives to bring the City of Pittsburgh into the 21st Century through upgrades in technology and data sharing. He also updated the city’s policies to make Pittsburgh a more welcoming place for food truck owners. Councilman Gilman graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Ethics, History and Public Policy. He currently serves on the boards of the Sports & Exhibition Authority, Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council and others.

Broadcast journalist Sheldon Ingram joined WTAE-TV in 1992, and has served as a reporter, fill-in anchor and talk show host of "Inside Pittsburgh." Ingram's scope of coverage ranges from breaking news events to timely and gripping human interest stories. Ingram studied broadcast journalism at Morris Brown College in Atlanta and later completed an internship at CNN as a reporter. His career as a television reporter included stops at WRCB-TV in Chattanooga and WVEC-TV in Norfolk. He has served on numerous boards or as a volunteer for several Pittsburgh nonprofit agencies, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pittsburgh and as a scuba diver at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium.

James T. Kunz Jr. is the business manager of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66. After 39 dedicated years as an operating engineer, his efforts as business manager has lead him to develop and implement a media campaign promoting union labor in the region. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Operating Engineers Local 66, AFL-CIO Construction Industry Combined Funds, Inc., as well as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Local 66 Welfare Fund, Benefit Fund and more. He also serves as Vice President for both the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO and Allegheny County Labor Council.

Ayanna M. Lee-Davis is senior counsel in the Pittsburgh office of Saul Ewing LLP, where she is a member of the Real Estate Practice and the Energy, Environmental and Utilities Practice groups. In her practice, Lee-Davis counsels clients in a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, as well as energy and environmental matters. She is also a mentor and graduation coach for several Pittsburgh Public School students through a partnership program offered by the African American Achievement Trust of the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Point Park University, a Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law and an LL.M. in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School.

Sylvia McCoy is the founder and owner of Pittsburgh's first culinary tour business, 'Burgh Bits & Bites Food Tour. 'Burgh Bits and Bites is consistently ranked by TripAdvisor as one of the top three tour activities in the city. McCoy is a first generation American and Pittsburgher, who is fluent in German and Swiss-German. The business was founded in 2008 after McCoy lived abroad for many years, exploring the rich culture of her European heritage. McCoy is active in the community, and serves on the board of Destination: Greater Pittsburgh, Swiss American Society of Pittsburgh, and St. Philip's church.

VisitPITTSBURGH is the official tourism and promotion agency of the Pittsburgh region. The organization is dedicated to generating conventions, trade show and leisure travel business for the Pittsburgh region.
