VisitPITTSBURGH Announces 2013 Travel & Tourism Partner Awards
PITTSBURGH - VisitPITTSBURGH announced the recipients of its 2013 Travel & Tourism Partner Awards. The awards, which recognize outstanding contributions to the region's convention, travel and tourism industry, were presented at VisitPITTSBURGH's Annual Meeting, which took place at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown on Thursday, April 3, 2014.
VisitPITTSBURGH presented its Convention & Meetings Partner of the Year Award to Anne Parrish, meeting planner, United Steelworkers. Ms. Parrish has been a tireless champion of the Steelworkers' hometown, booking many USW meetings in Pittsburgh, showing support for the local hospitality community. In addition Ms. Parrish is an exceptional advocate for Pittsburgh, and VisitPITTSBURGH has used Ms. Parrish as a reference when soliciting other large groups, knowing that she can always be counted on for a positive response.This award recognizes exemplary work, dedication and enthusiastic energy to ensure the success and lasting, positive impression of Pittsburgh-hosted meetings, conventions and events.
The Tourism Partner of the Year Award was presented to the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership's Clean Team for theiroutstanding partnership and ongoing collaboration withVisitPITTSBURGH. The Clean Team continues to do an amazing job keeping the City of Pittsburgh clean for both residents and visitors alike. This award recognizes individuals and organizations that have made an outstanding contribution to the success of the region's tourism industry.
VisitPITTSBURGH presented Simon Shopping Destinations, which represents both Ross Park Mall and Grove City Premium Outlets, with the Marketing Partner of the Year Award. Simon Malls was recognized for its steadfast commitment to advancing the region as a premier retail destination and for its collaborative spirit in marketing and promotions. This award recognizes a partner who has shown extraordinary willingness to support VisitPITTSBURGH's marketing efforts.
ThePittsburgh Cultural Trust was recognized as the Media Partner of the Year for aiding in VisitPITTSBURGH's efforts to market the Pittsburgh region. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust was recognized for its successful efforts with the wildly popular Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts and The Rubber Duck Project, JazzLive International Festival and the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival. Thanks to these wonderful, attention-getting events, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust helped to increase visibility of Pittsburgh through media outreach, significantly helping to improve the quantity and quality of media coverage about Pittsburgh.
